A chance to practice Mandarin with young children via a weekly Mandarin language program from 7pm to 7.30pm on Friday evenings on community radio 2XX:  98.3 FM or online at www.2xxfm.org.au To listen to past programs, click ON DEMAND and find the Mandarin program in the Program Guide.

The program is organised by ALMA and the 'Mandarin for Fun' group. Each program aims to encourage children to learn and practice their Mandarin skills in a fun way. There will be a story and songs in Chinese, which will be discussed in English and Mandarin, followed by some bilingual community announcements.

Parents and teachers are invited to send a recording (MP3 or WAV format preferred) of children singing a song or reading a short story or poem for broadcast on the show. This has proved to be a good way to encourage interest in practicing Mandarin. It may also be possible to invite children to broadcast live from the 2XX studio in Civic on a Friday evening. Contact mandarinforfun@gmail.com or canberraalma@gmail.com for more details.

ALMA and Mandarin for Fun gratefully acknowledge the support of 2XX, the ACT Office of Multicultural Affairs and the Community Broadcasting Foundation for this program.
